The Apartment at a glance:

The building is an elegant, 8-story, Haussmann architecture, with a carved, grey stone slate façade, high windows, and a stylish double entry door with heavy bronze handles and trimmings. The entry door, activated through a digital code, leads into an impressive high-ceilinged lobby, the apartment of the concierge, and a service entrance. From the left of the lobby, there is a main entrance staircase, and an elevator, which will allow access to the third floor (American 4th floor), where the apartment is located.

The apartment has exceptionally high ceilings, with patisserie moldings, high gloss parquet floors, enhanced with oriental area rugs, custom woodwork, carved marble fireplaces, bright off-white walls, high windows with rod-iron half-balconies, various art work, and a tasteful mix of antique and contemporary furniture. The entire apartment is filled with light, and its understated luxury promotes a feeling of deep comfort, in an uncluttered environment.

The apartment is comprised of a formal entrance hall , which links all the rooms in an easy and coherent pattern, emphasizing the natural airiness and brightness of the apartment. Immediately on the right, through the tall double French doors, one has access to a large living-dining room. On one side, is an elegant long Roche-Bobois green leather sofa surrounded by two armchairs, a cocktail table and a matching green leather otttoman (the French refer to as a pouf!) On the other side of the room, there is a carved marble fireplace, artwork and lights, a contemporary glass dining table with black suede chairs and a pair of candelabras. An extra large study-library- bedroom opens directly from the living room or through the main hall. On the right of an attractive, white, carved fireplace is a charming corner with a stylish Louis XV writing desk, a convertible French-type sofa bed, especially designed for every day sleeping. In front of the couch is a round, heavy glass designer cocktail table, and a comfortable off-white club chair. On the opposite wall, stands an authentic Provence-style armoire, with three high back French chairs on the sides.

The whole ensemble is enhanced by attractive lighting and an oriental carpet, covering the handsome parquet floor.

The other bedroom, situated across the hall, is a bright well laid out room with a plushy, top of the line, junior king-sized bed, a white, carved fireplace, a very attractive French campagne armoire, a 3-drawer wicker chest of drawers, 2 comfortable modern armchairs, artwork, tall window with a rod-iron demi- balcony, framed with off-white linen drapes, and overlooking a sun-filled treed courtyard.

The bathrooms (1 and ½) feature modern light grey Italian slate walls, a full bathtub with a built in shower, a pedestal basin, antique mirror, a small, white lacquered chest of drawers, gold and white accessories/appointments.

From the formal entry hall, a small corridor on the right, leads to the water closet. To the left is a modern windowed kitchen, full of light and sun, overlooking a treed courtyard. The kitchen has a pure modern line, good technology, freshness and cleanliness, with a mixture of recessed and spot lighting.

Top of the line Miele washing machine and dryer, 4-burner electric stove, rotisserie, electric tea kettle, coffee machine, and toaster. A large, new Whirlpool refrigerator-freezer. In addition, full sets of dinnerware, silverware, glassware, kitchen towels, pots and pans, all cookware. Ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner and more.
